Outdoor Lounge
A garden room that blurs into the lawn — charred timber cladding, a deep overhang and lighting tuned for dusk.
The clients wanted to use their garden for more than eleven weeks a year. We designed a covered outdoor room with a deep overhang, radiant heating and a lighting scheme built entirely around dusk rather than daylight.
Charred timber cladding was chosen for how it weathers, and the same timber returns inside as a ceiling lining so the transition between the two spaces is barely readable.
Planting was kept structural and evergreen — the garden should look composed in February, not only in June.
